Biography

Dr. Guillermo Cuna is originally from the Philippines, where he graduated med school at Romualdez Medical Foundation College of Medicine. His residency was at the Howard University Hospital in Washington DC and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He is fluent in English and Tagalog.

He has a holistic approach to patient care, getting to know not just their medical conditions but how their professional and personal lives affect these. He has a compassionate and easy-going approach, making the visits as comfortable as possible. So don’t be surprised if he cracks a joke or two, he’s dabbling in stand-up in case the day job doesn’t pan out.

Dr Cuna loves music, plays bossa nova guitar and pays a trainer to torture him regularly at the local gym.

Meet the Doctor

(upbeat music) Okay, my name is Guillermo Cuna, I’m a Family Practice doctor I work out of the Clayton Court office in Ft. Myers. I work with four other doctors and two nurse practitioners. It was a natural fit for me, I have this probably naturally caring attitude. I take on all commerce, I’m not like I do surgery and that’s all I do all day, I like to see and people interest me so I do a lot of stuff and I have a broad coverage of health issues that I like to follow. [Reporter off-camera: “Excellent. So where are your from?”] Originally from Manila, I migrated here back in ’94 I lived up in Washington DC for the longest time. I was working for the Sutter Maryland Hospital systems up there. I did pretty much the same thing that I’m doing here. I moved here in 2013. I joined up with Leigh High Regional and in February I made the move here. I like to keep healthy so I run. I play some tennis. I bowl, I’m actually joining a league tomorrow night. I like to do Latin dance. (upbeat music)
