Biography

Dr. Joe Anderson, MD, was inspired to pursue a career in medicine while originally working as a nurse in an ICU. He cultivated his passion for vascular surgery while working in a research position in medschool. Dr. Anderson's favorite part of his job is interacting with his patients who he says are some of the most gracious and thankful people he's met. He loves practicing in Southwest Florida because of our community, our people, and of course our weather.

Meet the Doctor

I’m Dr. Joseph Anderson I was originally born in northwest Iowa however I claim South Dakota as my hometown I joined Lee Health in April 2023. I joined the healthcare system in Southwest Ford as they have much to offer the community and I believe that I can help facilitate many of those goals that they Also possess. I chose vascular surgery in between my first and second years of medical school after a research opportunity, I had with a local vascular surgeon, fell in love with the the field almost immediately and it’s some of the most happy patient that I’ve interacted with have been vascular surgery patients in my training. outside of my hours spent at the hospital I very much enjoy cooking anything outdoors if that includes paddle boarding or going on walks in photography, and in those types of things and then as time allows I enjoy traveling as well.

The Doctors assistant was friendly, informative and treated us with respect. We were not kept waiting long for any part of the appointment. Dr Anderson very carefully explained everything we should know and didnt seem rushed as many doctors are. He was very enjoyable to be with. Great "bedside manner". Very knowledgable and respectful.
