Michael Fromke, MD

(upbeat music playing) My name is Mike Fromke and I’m a neurosurgeon. And my journey actually began in Minnesota. I Was born and raised in Minnesota. I think my specialty actually chose me. It’s just a process of elimination in medical school. I did some research in neuroanatomy and some of the basics sciences in neurological diseases and I did that before I started medical school and during medical school I figured out very quickly I wanted to be a surgeon. A lot of the critical things that I need to be successful as a neurosurgeon are here in this health system. So much of the changes that came about over the past 10 years, Lee Health has been ahead of the curve. So it gives me a lot of confidence that I can end my career in the next 15-20 years in a very stable position. Now that my four kids are raised, two boys and two girls, I have a lot of free time and I like to golf which is another reason I’m here in South Florida. I also like a lot of outdoor stuff, so I like to fish, fly fish, boat, I like to hike a lot too. (upbeat music playing)
