Hospital Medicine: Overseeing Your Stay
The hospital can be a complex maze of tests, instructions, and confusing locations. But Lee Health employs doctors called hospitalists who are trained to oversee every aspect of a hospital stay and make sure you're getting the care you need at the right time.
Lee Health hospitalists visit with you and your family in your hospital room and create specific care plans that can drastically reduce the length of your stay. Hospitalists order tests and other diagnostics and also prescribe medication. When your stay in the hospital is over, your hospitalist will explain the discharge process and give you instructions for follow-up care.
